Sunday in Penang

Sunday was meant to be a relaxing day on the Beach. However, Rob and I didn't sleep in. We woke up early to walk down to the Petronas gas station to use the ATM. It was a nice 1.5 km each way walk but it was already at least 30 degrees outside. When we got back, we woke the girls and walked to the beach. We thought that we just had to lay on the sand but then I spotted some beach chairs at a small cafe. I asked if we could rent some chairs for the day. The owner insisted that we use them for free. He also offered us a bathroom and cold water. This was fantastic!

The Beach!

We soaked up the sun for about 2 hours and then went across the street for some lunch. The sun was very strong so we had to reapply our sunscreen often. We had to check out of the apartment early so after lunch we hung out by the hotel pool for the rest of the afternoon. The bus came at 4 and drove us back to the airport.

Penang Airport- almost brand new. They also had international flights at this tiny airport.

I had some supper there, waited an hour and flew back to KL. From there, we went back into the vans and arrived back at our Bistari Apartments at 9pm. Everyone was exhausted but we had a great weekend exploring Penang! Back to work on Monday...
