We had a staff meeting first thing this morning. All the staff from all 6 centers came together to discuss monthly marketing and other news and events going on at Perfection. We got to sit in on some of it. Meetings in Malaysia are very disorganized. There is no agenda and no real start of the meeting. When we sat down, we weren't sure if it already had started or if the people were just chatting with each other. Also, decisions are made very quickly sometimes so we had to listen very closely and take lots of notes before they would move onto the next topic. I sure appreciate the canadian meetings and the organization more.
We were given our first deadline! And it was the end of the day- we had to complete our lesson plans and powerpoints by the end of the day because we will start presenting tomorrow and saturday. So no sitting around trying to find something to do today, we were hard at work. At 6pm, Mr Christopher took us out for supper to a buffet in the Hilton hotel. It was really fancy and there was more than enough food to try. I'm sure we had over 10 courses! He kept filling our plates and making us try more food. We rolled out of the restaurant! But the food was all really good- some was interesting and some way too spicy for me but overall very tasty. Supper was done at 9:30 and instead of driving us straight home, he decided to take us for a walk to the markets in china town. They run until 11 at night so it was still in full swing when we got there. This was a tourist hotspot with lots of white people which was nice to see. They had hundreds of vendors but they were all pretty much selling the same things- knock off designer purses, sunglasses, wallets, luggage, shoes, watches, perfumes, fruit and foods. Mr. Christopher bought us roaster chestnuts (which I didn't really like), candied coconut and fresh sugar cane juice. After 45 minutes walking through the market, he took us home. I had been wearing high heels all day so my feet were happy to get some rest.
We start our presentations tomorrow. Starting at 2:45, we'll present at the HQ and then travel to all the other locations to present to all the different classes at Perfection. Hopefully the kids will respond well to our lesson and marketing materials.
